This video is on the Japanese mafia – the Yakuza. The video itself is very “light” in its approach and is more artistic as its focus is on a photographer who was allowed to document the Yakuza but it can act as a launchpad into the world of the mafia and you can choose to go down the dark and dingy rabbit-hole as far as you wish (or the students’ sensibilities allow!).
I’ve provided some very interesting articles with Spanish and Catalan connections for you to arm yourself with and/or to use as additional class material and given some suggestions on how to do so.
