‘PIG BUTCHERING’ SCAMMERS TARGET BBC REPORTER

Scams are nothing new but the Internet has taken them to a whole new level  but why is this one called a «pig butchering» scam?!

History and marketing shows that ‘sex sells’, as they say, but how much does the FBI estimate was lost to this scam last year?!  How does it work (so well!) and how do they get away with it?! All of these questions and more!

This video is quite challenging so is more suitable upper-intermediate / Advanced students. It’s not so much what they say (the vocab is not so challenging), it’s how they say. Getting used to British people speaking quickly takes practise so use the «focus questions» in the interactive video to help you.
