WHERE WILL SPACE EXPLORATION TAKE US IN THE NEXT 50 YEARS?

A Watch and Talk Method video

Are you the teacher looking for the teachers’ notes? Log in here.

Hollywood has filled our heads with all sorts of wonderful images of space but what will ‘really‘ happen within the next 50 years? Will we colonise other planets? Discover new energy sources, perhaps? These are just a few of the questions from this interactive video.

This is an animated video (which makes it easier to follow) from the BBC so is suitable for intermediate and above students.  As usual, we highlight some of the more tricky vocabulary but try and watch it without the subtitles and see if you can understand the highlighted vocabulary from the context.

SAY IT OUT LOUD!

Test your vocabulary AND your pronunciation! Read the description of one of the key vocab words and say it out loud! (This only works in the Chrome browser – it’s a Google thing! 🤷‍♂️)

P.S. This is A.I. so don’t expect it to work perfectly! If you find it frustrating, skip it!
